Smith is expected to play for Sussex in three matches against Worcestershire (May 4-7), Leicestershire (May 11-14) and Glamorgan (May 18-22). WTC Final From June 7 and the marquee Ashes battle against England begins on June 16.
Smith said the IPL has helped him get used to playing against international rivals and he is looking forward to playing alongside Pujara, who is leading Sussex this season.
He said, “The day I don’t want to get better and learn, I will probably leave it. I am willing to play with Puja (Pujara) as well. I have played against him a lot, seen him score a lot. ” runs against me Hopefully we can spend some time together in between and get to know each other more.
How would it be to play with Pujara and then an Indian batsman in a few days time?
Smith said, “You are playing for the same team, have seen that playing IPL for years when you are playing with each other, you do everything possible to achieve success as a team. and later we will take care of their comfort.” told the Sussex Cricket website.
Smith will be up against Australian teammate and friend Marnus Labuschagne when Sussex take on Glamorgan. Both have already laughed about it.
Smith said, “A bit of a joke. He thinks he’ll get me out. We’ll see what happens. Maybe he’ll bowl when I come on. I’m sure it’ll be good.” ,
“It feels good to be here. I’ve always wanted to play county cricket and this is going to be my first time which is hard to believe.”
On the Ashes, he said: “It’s going to be an exciting summer. England have been playing some incredible cricket over the last 12 months, very different to what we’ve seen before and we’re playing well too.”
