One of the wrestlers who remains unsure about what is in store for her in the 2023 WWE Draft is the current WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley. In a conversation with WWE, Ripley stated that she was in the dark about her upcoming selection. However, she also believed that wherever she was drafted, she would remain a champion.

“Look, wherever I am, Raw or SmackDown, I’m going to be champion. The SmackDown Women’s Championship, it’s coming with me. And yes, I saw the draft tonight. I saw Bianca coming here. So I think That we’ll see what happens. I’m in the dark like everyone else. But I just know that I’m going to be a champion wherever I am,” Ripley said.

Ripley is set to defend her title against Zelina Vega at Backlash 2023. And ahead of the high-octane fight, Ripley confronts Vega in a recent encounter on Friday but the LWO member rescues her and escapes. In a conversation with WWE, Ripley spoke about Vega.

“Yeah, Zelena might have the upper hand tonight because she’s slippery and she’s fast and I’ll give her that and that. But in Backlash, Zelena can’t keep running, can’t escape. She can’t run up the ramp when Time to go. I may go in favorite, but I’m also going to be victorious,” Ripley said.

Backlash 2023 will take place on 6th May. In the main event, The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes will face The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar.
