# For the first time in IPL history, more than 800 runs were scored in a day, including two matches – Chennai 200/4 and Punjab 201/6 at Chepauk, Chennai and Rajasthan 212/7 and Mumbai Indians 214/4 at Wankhede Stadium, In Mumbai – both contested on 30 April.
# Also, for the first time, four totals of more than 200 have been registered in a single day’s play and both the matches have been won by the chasing teams.
# Nine matches in this edition have seen 200-plus totals from both teams in the same match – an all-time record in IPL, surpassed by five in 2022.
# Ten times in this edition, a 400-plus match has been witnessed – another first in IPL history.
# Interestingly, this edition has seen eight different teams finish in the top four match-aggregates. 458 for 15 between Punjab Kings and Super Giants at Mohali on 28 April; 444 for 14 between RCB and Super Kings at Bengaluru on 17 April; 433 for 11 between KKR and Sunrisers at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 14 April and 426 for 11 between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 30 April.

# 458 for 15 between Lucknow Super Giants (257/5) and Punjab Kings (201) is the third highest match total in IPL – 469 for 10 between Chennai Super Kings (246/ 5) and Rajasthan Royals (223/5) at Chennai on 3rd April 2010.
# Mumbai Indians’ 214 for four vs Rajasthan Royals on 30th April provided the first instance of a team chasing a total of over 200 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
# Lucknow Super Giants (257/5 vs Punjab Kings at Mohali on April 28, 2023) have become the second team to produce a total of over 250 in IPL – 1st Royal Challengers Bangalore – 263 for five vs Pune Warriors April 23, 2013 to Bangalore.
# Twenty-four totals over 200 have been registered in this IPL, setting an IPL record, surpassing 18 in 2022.
# Lucknow’s above total is now the highest score in IPL without an individual century.

# Faf du Plessis has taken 317 innings to complete his 9000 runs in Twenty20 – the ninth fastest in the format. The three fastest are Babar Azam (245 innings), Chris Gayle (249) and Virat Kohli (271).
# Nine bowlers were used by Lucknow Super Giants in Punjab Kings’ innings at Mohali on April 28, emulating an IPL record. RCB was the first team to use nine bowlers in an IPL innings on 14 May 2016 against Gujarat Lions in Bengaluru.
# Sixteen bowlers were used in the Lucknow Super Giants (nine) vs Punjab Kings (seven) match at Mohali on 28 April, emulating an IPL record. Sixteen bowlers were used in the RCB vs Gujarat Lions match at Bengaluru on 14 May 2016.
# Lucknow’s innings contained forty-one boundaries (27 fours and 14 sixes) – the second highest tally in IPL after 42 (21 fours and 21 sixes) for RCB vs Pune Warriors at Bengaluru on 23 April 2013.
#67 fours – Lucknow (41) and Punjab (26) – were engaged in Mohali on 28 April. The boundary was registered only once more in an IPL match – 69 between Chennai (36) and Rajasthan (33) at Chepauk, Chennai on April 3, 2010.

# Twenty-seven sixes have been hit by RCB’s Faf du Plessis – the most by a batsman in this IPL, followed by RCB’s Glenn Maxwell (23), CSK’s Shivam Dube (21) and LSG’s Kyle Mayers (20).
# There are three batsmen who have scored more than 400 runs in this IPL – Yashasvi Jaiswal (428), Faf du Plessis (422) and Devon Conway (414).
# There are only two bowlers to have taken 15 or more wickets in this IPL – Tushar Deshpande (17) and Arshdeep Singh.
# Arjun Tendulkar conceded 31 runs in an over against Punjab at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in April – given by the Mumbai bowler on the back of 35 by Daniel Sams during his figures of 3-0-50-1 vs KKR in Pune in April Second most runs scored 6, 2022.
# Rohit Sharma hit three sixes during his 27-ball 44 against Punjab at the Wankhede Stadium on 22 April and became the first Indian batsman to complete 250 sixes in IPL.
# Virat Kohli, with his catch of Devdutt Paddikal, became the third fielder to complete a century of catches in IPL, achieving the feat against Rajasthan Royals in Bengaluru on 30 April. With the catch of Yashasvi Jaiswal, he scored 101 runs followed by Suresh Raina (109) and Kieron Pollard (103).

# Suryakumar Yadav set the Indian record for the fastest to 6,000 runs in terms of balls (4017) in Twenty20s during his brilliant knock of 57 off 26 balls against Punjab at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 22 April. Overall, he is the fifth fastest behind Andre Russell (3550), Glenn Maxwell (3890), Kieron Pollard (3918) and Chris Gayle (4008).
# 82 in Punjab’s innings of 214 for eight against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 22 April – 13 in 15th over, 31 in 16th over, 13 in 17th over and 25 in 18th over – combined Typically the most in overs between 15 and 18 in the IPL.
# Virat Kohli has earned the dubious distinction of being dismissed on the first ball of a match for the second time in IPL – against Rajasthan Royals in Bengaluru on April 23 – his previous instance being against Sunrisers at Wankhede Stadium on May 8, 2022. He was joined by Brendon McCullum, Jacques Kallis, Parthiv Patel and Mayank Agarwal, who were dismissed twice off the first ball of the first match.
# Mitchell Marsh (63+4/27 against Sunrisers at Delhi on April 29) has become the fifth all-rounder to score a fifty and take four wickets in the same IPL match. He has joined Yuvraj Singh (twice), Jean-Paul Duminy, Kieron Pollard and Paul Valthaty in having previously completed the double. Jean Paul Duminy achieved this feat for Delhi

# Marsh has become only the second all-rounder to register a half-century in an IPL match and take four wickets in a losing cause. Both Yuvraj’s chances went in vain – 83 and 4 for 35 for RCB vs Rajasthan at Bengaluru on 11 May 2014 and 66 and 4 for 29 vs Delhi for DYP, Mumbai on 17 April 2011.

# Two of the four fifties registered in the power play this season have been registered by Kyle Mayers. He scored a 20-ball fifty against Punjab at Mohali on 28 April and a 21-ball fifty against Chennaiyin at Chennai on 3 April.
# Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell become the first pair to score centuries in three consecutive IPL innings at the same venue – 115 vs LSG for the second wicket, 126 vs CSK for the third wicket at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru 127 for the third wicket vs Rajasthan Royals.
# The only pair to manage 500 runs or more in this IPL is Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis – their tally is 504, including two centuries and a half-century in eight innings, at an average of 63.00.
# The top five partnerships in this IPL belong to RCB and Faf du Plessis is the only batsman in all five – three with Maxwell and two with Kohli.

# Sam Curran (four sixes), Harpreet Singh (two sixes), Jitesh Sharma (four sixes) and Harpreet Brar were the batsmen who made it possible with their impressive strike rate during the last six overs in the above match.
# Trent Boult became the first New Zealand bowler to complete 100 wickets in IPL.
# After a gap of seven years, Ajinkya Rahane was adjudged man of the match in IPL for his brilliant 29-ball 71 not out for CSK vs KKR in Kolkata on April 23. His last prize was for scoring 63 runs. # Devon Conway has registered eight fifties in IPL to become the first batsman from Chennai to hit eight fifties in first sixteen innings. Only one other batsman has achieved the feat in IPL history – Shaun Marsh of Punjab – one hundred and seven fifties.
# Akash Singh conceded 32 runs – 14 in the first over and then 18 in the second – vs Rajasthan in Jaipur on 27 April to become the second Chennai bowler to concede 32 runs in the first two overs of an IPL match. # For the first time, last-ball victories were registered on three consecutive days in IPL – KKR vs Gujarat on 9 April, LSG vs RCB on 10 April and Mumbai vs Delhi on 11 April.
# Tim David registered a strike rate of 321.42 during his match-winning knock of 45 not out from 14 balls – the highest by a Mumbai batsman in this IPL. His innings was decorated with two fours and five sixes.

# Yashasvi Jaiswal (124) scored his maiden century in IPL/T20I 77 vs Chennai Super Kings at Jaipur on 27th April 2023. He emulated Jos Buttler’s score of 124 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. May 2, 2021.
# Jaiswal becomes the third batsman to score a century as well as the highest individual score in this IPL – the first two being Harry Brook – 100 vs KKR vs Venkatesh Iyer vs Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 14th April at Mumbai Indians on 16th April At Wankhede Stadium.
# Jaiswal, at the age of 21 years 123 days, has become the youngest batsman to score a century for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL – the fourth youngest in the IPL.
# Jaiswal’s innings is the highest score by an uncapped player in IPL, bettering Paul Valthaty’s 120 for Punjab vs CSK at Mohali on 13 April 2011
# There was a gap of 106 between the top two scorers – Jaiswal (124) and Buttler (18) – in Rajasthan’s innings – the joint third largest in IPL history. The highest remains 142 when Chris Gayle scored an unbeaten 175 while the next highest scorer Tillakaratne Dilshan was dismissed for 33 – for RCB vs Pune Warriors in Bengaluru

# Devon Conway (94 not out against Punjab at Chennai on April 30) registered his highest IPL score of 87 vs Delhi Capitals at DYP, Mumbai on May 8, 2022. He is the third batsman after Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. Will score five half-centuries in this IPL.
# During his above innings, Conway completed 5,000 runs in Twenty20s in his 144th innings – joint third fastest to the milestone behind Chris Gayle (132) and Lokesh Rahul (143). Shaun Marsh played 144 innings and Babar Azam (145).
# Conway’s average of 44.41 is the highest among batsmen with 5,000 or more runs in Twenty20s, surpassing Babar Azam’s 44.02.
# Conway has become the fifth player to receive man of the match award twice in this IPL, the other four being Ravindra Jadeja, Mohit Sharma, Marcus Stoinis and Yashasvi
