Batting at a strike rate of 226.67, young Jurel scored 34 off 15 balls while Padikkal remained unbeaten on 27 off 13 balls. Earlier, RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler (27) laid the foundation for a mammoth total against Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. RR opener Jaiswal played a match-winning knock of 77 off 43 balls. Riding on Jaiswal’s brilliant knock, Samson’s RR posted a staggering 203 for Chennai.

Chasing a massive target, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a 29-ball 47 while Shivam Dube hit a brilliant half-century to propel CSK into a high-scoring thriller. However, Dube’s fighting knock went in vain as Dhoni’s CSK posted 170-6 in 20 overs. With Dhoni’s comfortable 32-run win over CSK, former champions RR have climbed to the top spot in the IPL 2023 points table.

RR opener Jaiswal took home the player of the match award after playing a memorable knock against Dhoni’s CSK in Jaipur. Champions in the 2008 editions of the IPL, Rajasthan Royals have picked up 10 points from 8 matches this season. Samson’s RR is followed by Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2023 standings. Rajasthan Royals will next take on five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 42nd match of IPL 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium.
