After a defeat at home against defending champions Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants travel to Mohali to take on Punjab Kings on Friday. LSG skipper KL Rahul has been a target of criticism for his sluggish innings in the last match and his strike rate in the ongoing IPL 2023. Bowling first.
After his dismissal, the IPL broadcasters showed a poll: “Which Indian legend will end his IPL career with more runs – Dhawan or Rahul?”. The fan poll was open on the IPL website and the broadcasters showed their reactions after LSG fell for two wickets later in their innings. Dhawan was slightly (57 per cent) preferred over Rahul (47).

The fan reaction to the poll has largely been due to the ongoing criticism of Rahul’s strike rate. In eight matches, he has scored 274 runs and has been one of the contenders for the Orange Cap, as he has been in almost each of the last few seasons, but the runs have come at a strike rate of just 114.64 which includes two fifties.
